American Airlines mechanics and related employees are compensated above the median pay level of the airline industry in aircraft and plant maintenance pay among legacy and low-cost carriers.

American is committed to providing opportunities for all mechanics and related employees to increase their earning capacity through a results- or outcome-based compensation system that rewards based on the performance of the employee and/or company or other established measures.

Like all other compensation issues, wage and pay rates will be considered to achieve competitive costs.
