Welcome to AANegotiations.com, a site devoted to information about the ongoing labor negotiations at American Airlines.
Three unions represent American Airlines employees: the Allied Pilots Association (APA), the Association of Professional Flight Attendants (APFA) and the Transport Workers Union (TWU). For the first time in the airline’s history, American is in mediation with all unions simultaneously. Given the complexity of the issues covered by collective bargaining agreements and the importance of the airline industry to the nation’s commerce and economy, it is not uncommon for airline labor contract negotiations to span several months or several years.
While the main work of the process is confined to the negotiations table, we provide this resource for updates, information and background on the industry and many of the issues under discussion. We try to keep the site fresh with frequent updates, new features and current information on both our company and the competitive landscape. The “For the Record” section contains commentary from various leaders on topics of importance to the airline and the negotiations process.
We are committed to working with labor leaders throughout the negotiations process to address many of our challenges and opportunities, exchange ideas and reach agreements that serve the best interests of American employees, customers, shareholders and the many communities we serve. If you have comments or ideas about the site, we welcome your feedback.
